Repeat Medication

You can order your repeat medication in the following ways:

• Using the NHS app

• Please click ‘Order your repeat medication‘ on this website. It will take you to the repeat medication form.

• Send us an email.

Prescription requests before noon will be ready the next working day after 3:00 pm.

Acute Medication – Patients must provide a reason to request a non-repeat prescription. If not, the GP will reject it.

Please provide a urine sample for urinary symptoms before 1.00 p.m.

We can send your repeat prescriptions to your chosen Pharmacy. You don’t need to go to the Surgery to pick up your paper prescription. (Read more about EPS on the NHS website.)

Changes to your medication

From time to time your medication may change:-

• from a tablet to a capsule or vice versa

• from one brand to another

• another equivalent medication

Your Doctor will only do this if the new medication is as good as or better at treating your condition. Please ask our staff or your local pharmacy if you have any questions about the changes

This Practice participates in the Wirral Prescribing Incentive Scheme. This scheme aims to increase the quality and cost-effectiveness of prescribing.

You can not order repeat prescriptions by phone. (Unless you are housebound and have your GP’s permission.)

Pharmacies can’t order your medications for you unless a GP allows it.

Medication Reviews  – Patients on repeat medications must see a doctor, nurse, or pharmacist at least once a year for a review.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

If you’ll pay for 4 or more prescriptions in three months, or 13 in 12 months, a PPC may be cheaper.
