Miriam Medical Centre – Minor Injury & Illness service

From Monday 2nd May Miriam Minor Injury & Illness service will be returning to a walk in only service. Please do not call to book a slot, you will need to walk in and wait.
The service is open 8am – 8pm daily, including bank holidays. Please attend alone where possible.
NOTE, Face coverings are mandatory for everybody inside the medical building
What can the Minor Injuries and Illness Service see and treat?
- Chest Infections
- Water/ Kidneys infections/ UTIS
- Minor Burns
- Bites/ Stings
- Cuts/ Grazes/ Minor Laceration
- Foreign bodies (if nurse can visualise them)
- Sprains/ Strains/ Falls
- Minor Eye injuries/ infections
- Skin complaints/ Infections/ Eczema (not chronic)
- Removal of Sutures/ Staples
- Dressing / Redressing
- Rashes
- Sore Throats
- Colds
- Ear Infections/ Pain
- Animal/ Human Bites
- Shingles/ Cold Sores
- Nappy Rash
- Paranchia
- Worms
- Impetigo
- Allergies/ Allergic Reactions
- Oral Thrush
- Mouth Ulcers (not dental)
- Diarrhoea and Vomiting

- Minor Injuries CANNOT prescribe
- For babies under 12 months old (triage Only)
- For Mental Health Problems
- Strong Painkillers
- Repeat Prescriptions
- Most Inhalers (Blue Inhalers in emergencies only)
